Classic Malts Cruise

Mascotte managed to get up to Talisker to meet the Classic Malts Cruise. What better way to go sailing: good winds, great scenery and a fine dram!

Crinan Classics

Mascotte attended Crinan Classic Boat Festival from the 2nd - 5th July. The festival is a celebration of vessels with wooden hulls.

The festival opened with the Puffer Vic 32 entering Crinan sea Lock with a pipe band onboard. Whiskey was provided to celebrate the opening of the festival.

Racing took place every day for the duration of the festival. Unfortunately light winds were not good for the pilot cutters. Mascotte, Mischief and Lizzie May were regularly at the back of the fleet. However, the racing was really a excuse to show of our sail wardrobes and for the boats to look at their best for photographs.

On Saturday evening, boat crew went to a Ceildh in Crinan Boatyard. We danced the night away and enjoyed exchanging stories about boat history and maintenance tips.

Sunday evening saw the prize giving and the close of the festival.

Whales and Dolphins

"We first saw 'Mascotte' last spring whilst she was in dry-dock in Gloucester, finishing some refit work. It was love at first sight. We knew at once we wanted sail on her. Her classic lines, strength, and seaworthiness were obvious. Our trip with her in The Hebridean Islands of Scotland was one we will never forget. In just one week, we enjoyed the full spectrum of weather conditions and even having spent 30 years sailing in all the oceans of world, we can honestly say she gave us one of the most thrilling sailing trips we've ever had. We can thoroughly recommend her to anyone wishing to sail on her, and can assure you that you will have a fantastic experience. We look forward to using 'Mascotte' for our Whale and Dolphin Expeditions in the future."
